Spots & Dots
An array of little circles has a playful connotation… but in my eyes they are much more of a classic style, a wardrobe staple. The pattern is one of the most simplistic you can find, which is why it stands the test of time and does not date.
Polka dots have a nostalgia associated with the 50’s and 60’s and with the rise of vintage, polka dots were revived.
Personally I prefer when all polka dots are of similar size and not of the large variety, but that’s my style. A more modern take would be a print of larger and smaller dots together, as seen here. The Polka dot is not to be taken to serious, it is a fun print and can give you an insight into someone’s playful personality…
My Polka dot dress is a wrap dress, and I have been known to wear a white skirt underneath for a more demure look. There are many styles available from skater to pencil to blouses or a bikini… it is Summer!
