My Ladies Day Style
Thee most exciting time of year in Galway is without doubt Galway Race week. The Style and Glamour are notched up to levels never seen before and the excitement and social factor are at an all time high.
You cannot help but get swept up in the swirl of fashion fun and excitement it brings. Living in Galway at this peak time is always an advantage as accommodation is scarce. Style and Sociable days and nights are a must for Galway Races..
Ladies day is the biggest day out and not for the faint hearted, but the rewards are great if you are a lover of fashion, millinery and the odd little flutter on horses…
Galway had a new sponsor The Kilkenny Group for Most Stylish Lady and I Luckily won tickets to ladies Day through the G hotel and the Kilkenny Shop on my instagram account…Yay for me! Any excuse to dress up…
I loved the dress I wore! I was saving it for a special outing and always had the races at the back of my mind.
The detail is my favourite part of the dress as always. The cape style over the shoulders was so elegant and it kept me warm up in the windy Ballybrit race-course, as it was dry and sunny it is not always warm.
The black stripe on the sides of dress running from under my arm to below my waist was very flattering and the black lace trim added new texture and detail and for me it was love…
The Beautiful Hat is the first piece I bought from the very talented milliner Jennifer Wrynne and it got another outing 3 years later. It has amazing detail and I gush with pride and happiness for a fellow Leitrim girl who is so talented and deserving of her success, not to mention beautiful…
As luck would have it the winner of Ladies Day wore a hat designed by my Milliner -Jennifer Wrynne! The detail of her work is incredible and I found myself spotting many of her styles at the races, so distinctive!
My hat has lots of detail with beautiful pearls and white bow in a hot pink disk with the underside a bloom of pretty flowers.
I accessorised with black court heels and a hot pink clutch with flower applique which matched the hat perfectly.
I wore pearl earrings to pick up on the pearls in the hat and to make the dress ‘My Own’ I added a pink brooch to the left of the cape.
With so much detail I left my hair in a sleek ponytail, it keeps it out of your way and less struggle with the pain of lip-gloss and hair, which only girls know about…
Hope you like my racing style for Ladies Day. Keep eyes peeled for next post on what I wore to the Friday evening Races…As always lots more snaps on instagram.
